Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating after a coyote was caught in an illegal trap on Sunday. Police said they received a report of a coyote caught in a leghold trap in the area of Turner Street in Taunton on Sunday. The coyote was put down due to it's injuries. While the trapping of coyotes is legal during the open season, police said the use of leghold traps is banned.
